Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized for pioneering the study of child witnesses and eyewitness memories within legal contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer, received many grants and been recognized with many international and national awards. She has advised a variety of government institutions and authorities around the world about policies and studies related to way children are treated by the legal system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She was a part of various professional associations, for example, that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Praxis and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is also a founder member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family the Practice and Policy.
